Coming Soon: The Atlanta Black Women Film Festival

In just a few days, the Black Women Film Network is celebrating 15 years at their Black Women Film Festival. The festival kicks off Friday with a special screening of the 2011 Sundance selectee "Crime After Crime," a documentary about the legal battle of Debbie Peagler who has been in prison for over 25 years due to her connection the murder of the man who abused her. The screening will be at The Woodruff Arts Center at 6:30 p.m.

The festival will have several great panels about filmmaking including "Reel Business of Filmmaking Workshop," "New Ways to Sell to and Distribute and Finance Your Film," and "How to Market Your Film." These panels will feature experts and filmmakers such as Steve Collins from Mobilfimworks, Jaunice Sills from BET, Saptosa Foster of 135th Street Agency, and filmmaker Nervaina Rhodes.

I think its going to be a great weekend for filmmakers and talent to connect and network. Check it out to get more details.
